Grace In All Moments | Motherhood Film Studio Session in Indianapolis

Film

I am always so thrilled to capture motherhood on film, and even more so to have the honor of capturing precious little ones as they grow. It feels like just yesterday I was documenting the first few weeks of Valerie’s life (see one of our past sessions here), and now she’s almost two! Motherhood is beautiful in every stage. Between the moments of the newborn haze and toddler independence there’s boundless grace. When the days feel like they can’t possibly get any longer and your patience any thinner. When you worry if you’re doing it right at all and wondering how you can make tomorrow better. When you pray for bedtime and then miss them the second they’re asleep. When they rest their sweet little head on your shoulder or pull your cheeks in for a kiss that only you can provide and all of those feelings dissipate in an instant. How thankful I am to have the absolute honor of capturing those moments for you to treasure forever.

In early November, our family moved into the home that we have been building over the past ten months. I knew that I wanted ample amounts of light (I added windows wherever I possibly could, of course!) and an office space. The afternoon light filters in through the office windows so beautifully, I just knew that I could turn it into a studio space and it did not disappoint! I can’t wait to use this space for motherhood events in the future! Here are a few of my favorite images from our afternoon together.

All images are a combination of Fuji 400h and Portra 400 (pushed one stop in development) with the Pentax 645n and Canon 1V.
